Anne Lamott Well Received

On September 19, 2007, Connections presented Anne Lamott, best-selling Author of Bird by Bird, Operating Instructions, and Plan B. She addressed nearly 1,500 attendees at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha, Nebraska and spoke in her signature self-effacing humor and was ruthlessly honest. While she conveyed life’s sadness, frustration and disappointment, she shared her stories with honesty and compassion in a way connected with the audience and was uniquely Anne.

Anne Lamott is the author of six novels as well as five best-selling books of nonfiction. She has been honored with a Guggenheim Fellowship, and has taught at UC Davis, as well as at writing conferences across the country.

Ms. Lamott waived her usual speaker's fees and requested that contributions received be divided between two Omaha service agencies: the Samaritan Counseling Center and Girls, Inc. A total of $10,434.93 was collected.
